Questions parents ask
Straight answers about places, hours, fees and funded hours. Anything else, ask us on WhatsApp.
We take babies from 6 months. Baby places are limited by childcare ratios (normally one baby under one per adult), so they go quickly. Tell us your start date and days and we'll say straight away whether a baby place is likely, or add you to the waiting list.
Yes. We're registered with Barnet to offer the 15 funded hours for 3 and 4 year olds (and eligible 2 year olds) and the 30 hours for working parents of children from 9 months to 4 years. We can stretch the hours over more weeks, and you can split them with a nursery. Bring your eligibility code to your visit. If you bring your child's food and nappies there is nothing extra to pay; any extras are itemised separately.
We do drop-offs and pick-ups by car, with car seats fitted, for local primaries in EN5 — families currently use Underhill, Whitings Hill and Cromer Road, and others have asked about Foulds, Christ Church, Monken Hadley, St Catherine's and Grasvenor Avenue. We aren't tied to any one school, so ask us about yours.
Gently, at your child's pace: a visit first (or we come to you at home), then a week of short sessions starting from two hours a day and building up to a normal day. Bring a comfort toy from home, and you'll get photos on WhatsApp from day one.
Babies from 6 months through to pre-school, plus before and after school care and school holidays for school-age children.
Monday 8am–7pm, Tuesday to Friday 8am–6pm, Saturday 9am–5pm. We're closed on Sundays and bank holidays.
Fees start from £8 an hour and depend on the days and hours you need (the minimum is five hours a day). We'll give you a clear, itemised quote at your visit or on request — no obligation.
We don't cook meals — you bring your child's food and we serve it at our table. Fruit, snacks and drinks are on hand all day, and our home is nut-free. Tell us about allergies, routines and dietary needs at your visit.
Yes to both, as well as bank transfer. With Tax-Free Childcare, for every £8 you pay in the government adds £2, up to £2,000 a year per child. Check your eligibility on gov.uk.
Yes — we're rated Outstanding by Ofsted (report dated 24 July 2025, URN 2707994), and registered for children over 5 and over 8 too. The whole household is DBS checked, Jamila is paediatric first aid trained, we're insured, ICO registered, and we follow the EYFS.
Yes. A visit is free and there's no obligation. It takes 20–30 minutes, your child is welcome to come too, and any day can work by arrangement. If your child is shy of new places, we can come to you at home first.
After drop-offs we head out — the park, the play centre or a trip further afield — and we're back for lunch around midday. Naps are from about 1pm, then play until home time. We try not to spend the day indoors.
Yes, and we use it whenever the weather is kind. On other days there are local parks and the play centre.
Children with anything contagious stay home until a doctor confirms they're well, and for 48 hours after vomiting or diarrhoea. We only give medicines that are prescribed and labelled, with your written consent.
A £100 non-refundable deposit secures a place, with the first two weeks paid in advance. Notice to end the contract is four weeks, and we give four weeks' notice of any price change. We give 12 weeks' notice of our own holidays and don't charge for them.
Yes to both — term-time-only contracts, part-week places, and swapping days when there's space.
English, Urdu and Farsi.
We're based in High Barnet (EN5) and welcome families from New Barnet, East Barnet, Cockfosters, Whetstone, Chipping Barnet, Hadley Wood, North Finchley, Friern Barnet, Mill Hill, Borehamwood and across North London.
