Who we are

A Star Childminding Ltd (“we”, “us”) is a childminding setting based in Barnet, London. We are the data controller for the personal information you share with us. You can reach us at barnet@astarchildminding.com.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through this website, we collect:

• Your name, phone number and (if you give it) email address
• Details about the care you’re looking for, if provided: your child’s age, start date, days, type of care, how you plan to pay, your postcode and good times to visit
• Any message or details you choose to send us
• How you found us: the page you arrived on, the website that sent you, and any campaign code in the link you clicked (for example from a flyer QR code or an advert)

Why we use it & our lawful basis

We use this information to respond to your enquiry, check whether we have a suitable place and discuss childcare with you. We use the “how you found us” details to understand which of our adverts and leaflets are useful to parents. Our lawful basis is legitimate interest — responding to a request you have made. We do not use your details for marketing without your separate consent, and we never sell your data.

Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers to run this website and handle enquiries on our behalf:

• Our website host (for delivering the site)
• Our database provider, Neon (to store enquiries securely)
• Our email provider, Resend (to deliver enquiry notifications and replies)
• WhatsApp, if you choose to message us there or ask us to reply that way

These providers act as our data processors and only handle your data on our instructions.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details only as long as needed to respond and, where relevant, to arrange care. Enquiries that don’t lead to a placement are deleted within 12 months. Records for enrolled families are kept as required by Ofsted and HMRC.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict its use. To exercise any of these rights, just email us. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

This website uses only the essential cookies needed to function. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don’t store campaign codes on your device — they’re only sent to us if you submit an enquiry.
